Trent Petrie
Owner / Head Coach
Bio:
Trent Petrie, Owner and Head Coach of the Lubbock Baseball Academy, is no stranger to baseball in West Texas. After starting his college baseball career at Hill College in 1990, Coach Petrie transferred to Texas Tech in 1992, then finished playing baseball and graduated at Lubbock Christian University in 1993. He then went on to coach baseball at Wayland Baptist University, and graduated with his master’s degree from WBU in 1996.
Coach Petrie and his wife, Kim (counselor at Irons Jr. High), have two daughters, Summer and Payge, and a son, Easton. Summer started her college freshman year at LCU, Payge is in her freshman year at Lubbock Christian High School, and Easton is in 1st grade at Honey Elementary.

Bio:
Having coached college baseball for 12 years, Coach Leffingwell has helped many players achieve their dreams of playing at the college level and also coached many to professional baseball. Throughout his playing and coaching careers, Coach Leffingwell has gained a wealth of knowledge that allows him to help others realize their potential. It is Coach Leffingwell’s goal to help every player succeed at the game of baseball and to do so with proper mechanics that will ensure safety, longevity and prevent injury. Coach Leffingwell works as a professional baseball scout and has many close relationships with college baseball coaches at every level which are both positives for furthering careers of young talent.

Darby Brown
Coach
Bio:
Darby grew up in Lubbock and played his high school baseball at Lubbock Cooper. After high school he played for 2 years at Howard Junior College and finished his career playing 2 years at Texas A&M. During his time at Texas A&M he was a part of a Big 12 Tournament Championship in 2007 and a Big 12 Regular Season Championship in 2008. A&M made it to a super-regional in both 2007 and 2008 as well. He was the graduate assistant at Lubbock Christian University during the 2011 season.

Bio:
Played at Frank Phillips Junior College, Oklahoma State University, and most recently for the Houston Astros. He is currently coaching at Lubbock High School.
